Man killed in Knoxville fire identified
Police have identified the 55-year-old Knoxville resident killed this week in an early morning house fire.
Police say they found Michael J. Chapman dead inside the house at about 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Police have said there is no preliminary indications of anything suspicious about the fire, which destroyed the two-story house.
Investigators from the Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office have joined Knoxville firefighters in investigating the blaze.
Authorities say Chapman was alone in the house at the time. An autopsy will be performed to determine a cause of his death.
