Man killed in Interstate 80 construction accident identified

Police said a West Liberty man was killed after he was hit by a dump truck on Interstate 80 Monday morning.
Gamaliel Rodriguez, 31, of Streb Construction died after he was hit by the dump truck, driven by Ralph Billick of Tipton. Billick also worked for Streb Construction as a subcontractor.
Rodriguez was working in the construction area when he was struck.
Crews were called to the accident on Interstate 80, east of the Dodge Street and Highway 1 interchange, at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials said Rodriguez had died by the time emergency responders arrived.
