Man injured in Cedar Rapids apartment fire

CEDAR RAPIDS - Firefighters responded at 2:53 p.m. Thursday for a report of smoke in an apartment in the 3300 block of Agin Court NE.
Hiawatha crews arrived first entered a second-story unit to find moderate smoke and heat, according to a release from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which did 'moderate” damage to the apartment. Cedar Rapids firefighters assisted with ventilating the remaining smoke from the apartment.
A man, approximately 40 years old, was taken to UnityPoint - St. Luke's for treatment of injuries, according to the release.
Investigators did not immediately know how the fire started.
