A man was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly swinging a broken beer bottle at someone in a downtown Iowa City bar.
No one was injured, police said.
Camurn Munro, a 19-year-old from South Africa, faces a charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury for the incident at Summit Restaurant and Bar, 10 S. Clinton St.
Officers responded to the bar at 11:53 p.m. for a complaint of a man causing problems. Upon arrival, Munro was being held down by staff.
Witnesses and the victim said that after Munro was asked to leave the bar, he grabbed a beer bottle off a table and broke it and then began swinging it back and forth toward the victim, according to a criminal complaint.
Munro was in Johnson County Jail Friday on a $2,000 cash-only bond.
