A Clarence man has died 10 days after he was seriously hurt in an all-terrain vehicle accident.
Scott A. Dierks, 30, died Thursday at University Hospitals in Iowa City, according to an obituary notice sent to The Gazette. He and another man were thrown off the ATV on June 20 when Dierks lost control along a curve on Quincy Avenue, just north of Clarence.
The passenger, Daniel J. Mohr, 26, of Clarence, was not seriously hurt.
Iowa State Patrol Sgt. David Shinker said the case is still being investigated.
Dierks is the third person to die in an ATV crash near Clarence in three months. Jayce Droll, 17, of Stanwood, and Aaron Lawrence, 16, of Mechanicsville,
died from their injuries when the ATVs they were riding crashed on a gravel road on April 1 southwest of Clarence.
