Man dies after being found in northwest Iowa pond

Authorities say a 78-year-old man is dead after he was pulled from a pond near Sioux Center in northwest Iowa.
The Sioux County sheriff's office says the family of Peter Schouten of Sioux Center, reported him missing Monday evening when he didn't return home from an afternoon fishing trip.
Authorities found the man about 8 p.m. in the water at the Sandy Hollow Campground.
Sheriff Dan Altena says it appears the man was sitting by the pond doing some fishing. He says emergency crews aren't sure if the man suffered a heart attack or if he fell in the water and drown.
The man's name hasn't been released pending notification of his family.
