CEDAR RAPIDS – A man who arrived at a Cedar Rapids hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg told police he walked six blocks to a relative's house after it happened, according to a police report.
Chris James, 24, came to St. Luke's Hospital just before 1 a.m. Friday and later told officers he caught a stray bullet in the 1800 or 1900 block of C Avenue NE. He was treated and released Friday morning.
James told police he walked to a family member's house to get a ride to the hospital. Investigators didn't find any evidence in the area, and were unable to find any witnesses.
Sgt. Joe Clark said James did not want to pursue charges or provide much detail to officers.
