North Liberty police have charged a man with making methamphetamine in a car last year.
Complaints said Clark Michael Mckey, 58, address unknown, was the passenger in a car with the wrong license plates in February 2011 at 21 Holiday Lodge. When police approached, the driver of the car allegedly fled the scene. Officers said they then found several items used to manufacture methamphetamine and syringes inside a backpack in the backseat of the car.
According to reports, the narcotics task force confirmed the materials were consistent with an active meth lab. Police said this was also confirmed with the Division of Criminal Investigation.
Reports said police later located a witness, who said Mckey and the driver of the vehicle were making meth in the car in his driveway.
Mckey is accused of possession of a controlled substance and a controlled substance violation.
