LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A Louisville man has been charged with attempted murder after a 12-year-old boy who was ringing doorbells and running away was shot.
Police arrested 56-year-old Michael Bishop. The arrest citation says witnesses reported that Bishop came out onto his porch with a shotgun and pointed it in the direction of a group of children and fired, striking the victim, The Courier-Journal reported.
The youth was expected to survive after the incident late Monday night in southeastern Jefferson County.
Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says witnesses told officers the boy and several of his friends were ringing doorbells or knocking on doors in the neighborhood and then running away.
