Loft opens Aug. 12 at Collins Road Square in Marion

Women's apparel retailer Loft will open a new location in Marion on Aug. 12.

The 5,500-square-foot store at Collins Road Square, 1470 Twixt Towne Rd., will be next to Michael's craft store.

Taylor Hedrick, store manager, said the new store will be smaller than other Loft locations, including Coral Ridge Mall, to give it a "boutique feel."

"It's more welcoming," she said. "(Corporate) really wanted to bump up the aesthetics."

The store will have tables, plush seating, open space and larger groupings of mannequins.

Hedrick said she still needs to fill about eight of the 20 positions, most of which are part-time.

Founded in 1998, Loft operates 500 stores across the United States and is a division of Ann Inc. The store sells women's clothing, including petite sizes, shoes and accessories.

Loft will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
