Reporter Cindy Hadish will be providing live coverage of tonight's free community forum on the forthcoming Cedar Rapids medical district and historic preservation.
The forum, "Steps to Sustainability: Can the Cedar Rapids medical district be a model for preservation and growth?," is set for 7-8 p.m. today at the second floor of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, 410 Third Ave. SE.
Panelists will include City Council members Monica Vernon and Pat Shey; Historic Preservation Commission chairwoman Maura Pilcher; and Cedar Rapids historian Mark Stoffer Hunter.
What are the city's plans for the medical district? How will that affect where you drive, park, live and get your medical treatment? How do those plans mesh with the city's sustainability goals? What will become of historic buildings in the district? Where do restaurants, hotels and other amenities fit in the project? Will taxpayers foot the bill?
Join the live chat below, or watch a live broadcast of the forum at KCRG.com or KCRG 9.2.
