UPDATE: Linn and Johnson county court employees are being laid off today, but how many will lose their jobs isn't being released until the end of the day.
Carroll Edmondson, 6th Judicial District court administrator, said he will provide detailed layoff numbers about 4 p.m.
Linn County court employees verified two people were let go so far this morning.
No employees have been laid off yet from Johnson County. Edmondson is scheduled to go to Iowa City this afternoon to make those cuts.
The judicial branch has to cut 10 percent from their budget, or $16 million, as required by Gov. Chet Culver. Details of how many cuts will be made in each judicial district hasn't been released.
The courts had also announced Tuesday there will also be 10 furlough days taken from December to June.
Check back later today for updates.
