A Central City woman got a big win from a scratch ticket she bought at a Cedar Rapids Casey's General Store.
According to a media release from the Iowa Lottery, Barb Colehour, 57, of Central City claimed the seventh of nine top prizes of $100,000 available in the lottery's 'Little Black Game Book” scratch game.
Colehour bought the ticket at Casey's at 3349 Mount Vernon Road SE and scratched it off later that night, according to the release.
She said she regularly plays this game in particular but she never expected to actually win.
'Oh I checked it I don't know how many times because it's like, ‘OK. Is this real?' And it is!” Colehour told lottery employees Wednesday as she claimed her prize at the lottery office in Cedar Rapids, according to the release.
Colehour told lottery officials that nothing is set in stone on what she will spend the winnings on, but a portion of it might go to paying off some bills.
