Linn County Sheriff’s Office finds missing inmate, now charged with felony escape

Update: The Linn County Sheriff's Office have located an inmate who was missing since last week after being released due to a court ordered furlough.
According to a media release from the sheriff's office, Matthew Carnahan, 26, h
ad been serving a 60-day mittimus for contempt of court and was supposed to return to the Linn County Correctional Facility on Nov. 16 following his furlough on Nov. 8.
Carnahan was found at 3320 Town House Dr. NE in Cedar Rapids and taken into custody by deputies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, according to the release. He was then returned to the Linn County Correctional Facility, where he will be charged with Felony Escape from Custody.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is asking for public assistance in finding an inmate who failed to return after a court ordered furlough.
According to a sheriff's office media relase, Matthew Carnahan had been serving a 60-day mittimus for contempt of court when he was released for the furlough on Nov. 8. Carnahan failed to return to the Linn County Correctional Facility on Nov. 16, according to the release.
Carnahan is described in the release as a white male, six feet tall and weighing 150 pounds.
