Linn County Fair queen, princess crowned

CENTRAL CITY - Alexis Costello is on her way to the Iowa State Fair, where she'll compete in the 2017 Queen Competition Aug. 8-12.
Costello, the daughter of Tim and Karen Costello of Cedar Rapids, was crown Linn County Fair queen during a ceremony on June 29 at the fairgrounds, located in Central City.
Costello will be studying at Mount Mercy University this fall and plans to double major in criminal justice and accounting.
Also during this year's Linn County Fair, which ran from June 28 to July 3, Kiera Dixon was crowned fair princess. She is the daughter of Michael and Karen Dixon of Walker and will be attending Central College this fall.
Delaney Sturtz, the daughter of Michelle Tegeier of Cedar Rapids, earned the Leadership Award at this year's Linn County Fair. She will be a senior at Alburnett High School this fall. Her future plans involve a career in animal science.
Grace Pisarik, the daughter of Steve and Susan Pisarik of Mount Vernon, earned the Citizenship Award during the fair. She will be a senior at Mount Vernon High School this fall. Her future plans are to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.
