Linn Cooperative Oil doubles space with expansion

MARION - Linn Cooperative Oil Co. has moved into its new, 9,000-sqaure-foot office space and warehouse on Third Avenue in Marion, which doubles the space of its former site.

Linn Co-op, a full-service grain, energy and feed cooperative based in Marion, has other offices in Alburnett, Springville and Newhall.

Linn Co-op, at 3544 Third Ave., began construction on the building in August 2015 on land adjacent to the current warehouse, according to a news release from the Marion Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier in October, the former office space on 35th Street in Marion was converted into a warehouse, and office staff was moved into the new building on Third Avenue.

Bill Mysak, Linn Co-op general manager, said in a statement the new facility doubled the company's building space.

'The original building was built in 1964 and didn't accommodate our growth or allow for easy accessibility for our customers,” Mysak said. 'I'm also proud to say it was built almost entirely with Marion contractors for items like concrete, lumber, paint and cabinets.”

A ribbon cutting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
