Lightning likely sparks fire at Luxemburg church
Dubuque County authorities say lightning is likely the cause of an early morning fire that caused significant damage at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemberg.
Authorities were called at 2:36 a.m. for a report that flames were coming out of the church steeple. Fire departments from Holy Cross, Dyersville, Farley, Colesburg, Guttenberg, Worthington and Dubuque were called to the scene.
A damage estimate has not yet been determined.
