Lightning causes fire at Washington apartment building

WASHINGTON, IA – Lightning from a thunderstorm sparked a fire on the roof of a an apartment building in Washington Friday night.
Washington County authorities say crews were dispatched at 10:04 p.m. to 311 E. Main St., in Washington after lightning hit the roof of the building. Fire damage was contained to the roof and attic.
The apartment building was evacuated and no one was hurt. Officials say no one was displaced.
