Kum & Go expanding Corridor presence

West Des Moines-based Kum & Go has purchased three Coralville-Iowa City convenience stores formerly operated as Gasby's.

The stores at 2303 Muscatine Ave. and 1310 Gilbert St. in Iowa City will be rebranded and begin operating immediately as Kum & Go.

The Coralville store at 2600 Holiday Rd. will be closed, demolished and rebuilt, with an anticipated opening late this year.

When all construction is completed by the end of 2015, there will be nine Kum & Go locations in the Coralville-Iowa City area. Construction of a store at 205 Second Ave. in Coralville is anticipated to be completed in early fall, and the Kum & Go at 822 First Ave. in Coralville is slated to be rebuilt beginning this month, with an expected late 2015 opening date.

Kum & Go also operates Iowa City stores at 513 S. Riverside Drive, 323 E. Burlington St., 25 W. Burlington St. and 955 Mormon Trek Blvd.
