MIDLAND, Mich. - Ryan Eades threw seven strong innings, and the Cedar Rapids Kernels' offense produced 11 hits and a season-high 11 runs in an 11-2 win Thursday afternoon over the Great Lakes Loons in Midwest League baseball.
The Kernels (4-3) won the rubber match of the three-game series. They play Friday night at Lansing.
Eades (1-0) struck out five and allowed six hits and an unearned run. The former LSU Tiger did not walk anyone.
Newcomer Jason Kanzler had three hits and three RBIs for Cedar Rapids. He also scored twice.
Every Kernels starter had a hit, with the exception of Bo Altobelli, and he walked and scored twice.
