Kernels Gonsalves, Hildenberger make BA All-Star Team

CEDAR RAPIDS - Former Cedar Rapids Kernels pitchers Stephen Gonsalves and Trevor Hildenberger were named low-Class A all-stars for the 2015 season by Baseball America, the magazine announced Friday.
Gonsalves was one of five starting pitchers named to the team. He went 6-1 in nine starts with a 1.15 earned run average before being promoted to high-A Fort Myers.
Hildenberger was the lone reliever on the team. He was 2-1 with 14 saves and a 0.80 ERA in 28 appearances before his promotion to Fort Myers.
For Fort Myers, Gonsalves went 7-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 17 starts. Hildenberger went 1-1 with three saves and a 3.32 ERA.
Also on the classification all-star teams were 2013 Kernels Jose Berrios and Max Kepler. Berrios was named the Pitcher of the Year in Triple-A, Kepler the Player of the Year in Double-A.
Berrios had a 14-5 record and 2.87 ERA in 27 starts at Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Rochester. Kepler hit .322 in 112 games at Chattanooga, with 32 doubles, 13 triples, nine home runs and 71 RBIs.
