Kernels conquer Wisconsin again
GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - Max Murphy had three hits and three RBI, as the Cedar Rapids Kernels completed a three-game sweep of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers with an 8-3 win Wednesday night.
The Kernels (16-11) have won all six games between the teams, all of them at Wisconsin.
Trey Vavra also had three hits and scored a pair of runs. T.J. White drove in two runs.
Starting pitcher John Curtiss (2-2) three six innings to get the victory. He struck out eight.
Trevor Hildenberger and Cam Booser finished up with three shutout relief innings combined.
Cedar Rapids begins a series Thursday night at Beloit.
