CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and parent Minnesota Twins announced Thursday afternoon that pitcher John Curtiss has been activated from the Kernels' disabled list and will start Thursday night's game at Quad Cities.
Curtiss went on the DL last week with a concussion, suffered in a collision with teammate and third baseman T.J. White while trying to field a groundball in a game. He is 1-1 with a 4.63 earned run average in two starts.
In a corresponding move, pitcher Miles Nordgren has been assigned back to Twins extended spring training. The right-hander was very solid while in Cedar Rapids, throwing 3 1/3 scoreless innings in two relief appearances.
