CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Friday that outfielder Max Murphy has been activated from the disabled list and will be available to play in the team's game Friday night at Clinton.
Murphy has been on the DL since July 19 because of a left oblique strain. He is hitting .227 in 77 games, with four home runs and 30 RBIs.
Outfielder Chris Paul has been placed on the disabled list with a right shoulder impingement. Paul, a sixth-round draft choice in June, is 4-for-24 with the Kernels in six games since being promoted from Rookie-level Elizabethton.
Additonally, infielder Blake Schmit has been activated from the Cedar Rapids disabled list and promoted to high-Class A Fort Myers. Schmit hit .226 with a homer and 12 RBIs in 18 games for the Kernels.
He went on the DL June 11 with a facial fracture, the result of being hit in the face by a pitch.
