KCRG: Pilot killed in small plane crash near Monticello airport
MONTICELLO — One person was reportedly killed in a small plane crash Saturday afternoon near the Monticello Regional Airport.
According to KCRG-TV9 reports, the crash occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday. The pilot was the plane's only occupant, KCRG reported. The pilot's identity was being withheld until family members could be notified.
Police found the plane about 50 yards from the airport's runway, KCRG reported. Officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the crash.
