UPDATE: About 115 area residents were called today for jury selection in the murder trial of Michelle Kehoe, 35, of Coralville, in Grundy County District Court.
The judge is now individually questioning 37 people who said they didn't know if they could be fair and impartial in the case. Jury selection is expected to last all day and possibly into Thursday morning.
Kehoe, charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder, is accused of cutting the throats of her sons Seth, 2, and Sean, 7, on Oct. 27, 2008. Seth died from his injuries and Sean survived. Sean Kehoe told police his mother duct taped his nose, mouth and eyes before cutting him and then cut his brother.
Kehoe is claiming insanity as her defense.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
