Johnson County golf course employee drowns in pond
A man who drowned Wednesday after being trapped by maintenance equipment in a pond at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course was an employee of the business, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said.
First responders to a Wednesday afternoon 911 call found Christopher Plowman, 38, of Tiffin, in a pond at the course at 4390 Sand Rd. SE, south of Iowa City. The Sheriff’s Office said rescuers discovered he was fully submerged and trapped by the equipment.
After his body was recovered, he was declared dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said it was investigating the incident.
