BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - An eastern Iowa mother and daughter have been charged with abusing a man they were caring for and stealing more than $50,000 from him.
Cindy Dameron, 54, and her daughter Jodi Dameron, 35, were arrested by the Des Moines County Sheriff's Department on Thursday.
WQAD reports the women are each charged with one count of first-degree theft and one count of dependent adult abuse.
Authorities allege that the Damerons took more than $50,000 from the man's bank accounts from 2006 to 2011.
Investigators say the victim told them the women only checked on him about once a month.
The Damerons are being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center on $15,000 bond.
Online court records have no attorney information listed for the Damerons.
