A 17-year-old Altoona boy suffered only cuts and bruises after being run over by a train.
Des Moines television station KCCI reports that the teen told Des Moines police he had been drinking at a music festival when he blacked out Sunday night.
Two Iowa Interstate Railroad engineers told police they were traveling over a river bridge just before 11 p.m. when they spotted something laying between the rails. When they realized it was a person, they put on the emergency brake. The engine and first car rolled over the teen before the train came to a stop.
Police said boy was taken to a hospital with cuts to the back of his head and a bruise on his thigh.
The railroad is pressing a trespass charge against the teen.
