Iowa State Penitentiary on restricted movement after inmate incident
FORT MADISON - The Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison was placed on restricted movement Saturday after an incident on the yard involving multiple inmates, officials said.
The incident was brought under control quickly. Minor injuries were reported to inmates involved in the incident, and no staff injuries were reported.
No weapons were known to be involved, officials said. The prison's visiting room will be closed until further notice.
The incident remains under investigation.
