IOWA CITY - The Iowa Board of Regents is meeting to discuss the search for the next president at Iowa State University, salary policies for non-union workers and the state budget stalemate.
The regents meet Wednesday in Iowa City. They are expected to consider approving salary policies for the state's three public universities that would give non-union employees raises generally averaging 3 percent.
The raises will vary depending on one's performance and other factors. They would be in line with those received by the state's unionized employees, who are getting raises of 2 percent on July 1 and 1 percent in January.
The board will also get updated on state budget talks and take the next steps to search for a successor for ISU President Gregory Geoffroy, who will step down next year.
