A 44-year-old Iowa man who's admitted to past animal neglect faces new charges for allegedly abusing horses.
Kelly J. Olson of Ossian was charged with 22 counts, including failing to dispose of carcasses and neglect.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff on Thursday said he's being held on $15,000 bond at Chickasaw County Jail.
Authorities removed more than dozen horses last month near Fredericksburg. Some carcasses were already decaying.
A phone number couldn't be located for Olson. It was immediately unclear Thursday if he has an attorney.
Olson has faced similar charges before.
In 2006, he was fined $300 for failure to dispose of dead animals. The case that involved 57 horses and 12 carcasses. In 2008, he was sentenced to 42 days in jail after pleading guilty to failing to dispose of an animal carcass.
