IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A 70-year-old Iowa man has been charged with fraudulently collecting Social Security benefits while he was in prison.
An arraignment hearing is set for Tuesday in federal court in Des Moines for Floyd V. Conner Jr., who was charged earlier this year with supplemental security income fraud.
Authorities say he failed to disclose between 2009 and 2010 that he was incarcerated in Iowa prisons in Newton and Oakdale and should have been ineligible for benefits.
Conner's whereabouts could not be determined, and court records do not show whether he has an attorney.
State court records show he was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison in 2002 for ongoing criminal conduct and forgery.
