DUBUQUE - Dubuque Wahlert junior center and University of Iowa basketball commit Cordell Pemsl had knee surgery recently and could be away from the court for up to seven months, he has confirmed.
Pemsl helped Wahlert to a second-straight Class 3A state championship this past spring, averaging 17.3 points and 8.9 rebounds. He missed some time during the season while recuperating from knee surgery last offseason.
He also has dealt with a separated shoulder in his career.
'Gotta thank the man above for the blessings he gave me,” Pemsl said on Twitter. 'This is a tiny bump in the road, and it's only gonna get better. God bless you all.”
