MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- For the second year in a row, the Iowa Hawkeyes have lost their rivalry game against the Minnesota Gophers, after stumbling to a 22-21 loss in Minneapolis.
The Floyd of Rosedale trophy, a bronze pig statue, will stay with the Gophers.

THE GAZETTE.COM PICK 'EMS
Week 9
Iowa at Minnesota
Marc Morehouse - Prince called this week. He changed his name again. He wants to be called George Schwartz. I said, “Thanks for calling, George Schwartz!” Iowa 48, Minnesota 24
Mike Hlas - Sure, that bronzed pig is nice, but you can't beat that old Cy-Hawk Trophy with the farmer somberly telling his family he's leaving it to join Cirque du Soleil. Iowa 45, Minnesota 21
Nick Pugliese - I like bacon, very crisp, with my eggs over easy. Iowa 35, Minnesota 14
John Campbell - Close your eyes and visualize. Floyd's empty case at the Iowa football facility. It spoke volumes. Iowa 34, Minnesota 10
Beth Malicki - Last day of soccer games. I'll miss seeing my boys scurry on lush fields, but I won't miss some of the parents on the sidelines. Iowa 35, Minnesota 20
Bob Brooks - After last year, the Hawks are poised to bring Floyd back to the state of better corn. Iowa 41, Minnesota 14
J.R. Ogden – If Hawkeyes can't win this year, time to sell the season tickets. Iowa 45, Minnesota 21
Jeff Johnson – Hawkeyes play Wartburg next week. Iowa 38, Minnesota 17
Rob Gray – Have to feel for Gophers Coach Jerry Kill. Only legit team his team as played close is USC. On the road. Somehow. Iowa 47, Minnesota 20
Jeff Linder – Hawks get the right to do that sprint across the field to heist the pig. Iowa 33, Minnesota 14
James Steward – Not sure if ownership of a bronze pig is something to brag about, but better to have it than not. Iowa 42, Minnesota 17
Scott Saville – The Gophers are one of the worst teams in D-1 this year. Iowa 42, Minnesota 14
John Sears – The Gophers are terrible. There's no other way to put it. At 1-6 their lone win came over Miami Ohio. But, they still have Floyd. The fat bronze pig will be making its way back to Iowa City, book it. Iowa 34 , Minnesota 17
Tammy Jean (from The Gazette's Facebook page) – Iowa gets Floyd back. Iowa 28, Minnesota 10
Iowa State at Texas Tech
Morehouse - Speaking of Minnesota music, the Gear Daddies owe me $20. It was a keg misunderstanding during grad school daze. I don't want to get into it, I just want my money. Texas Tech 42, ISU 14
Hlas - The Big 12 just lost two more members, added three more, lost two of the three it added, and regained one of the ones it lost. All in the last five minutes. Texas Tech 45, ISU 21
Pugliese - Cyclones' only shot is if Texas Tech has not come down from stunning Oklahoma. Texas Tech 35, Iowa State 14
Campbell - Where is West Virginia when the Clones need them? Oh. They're coming? To the Big 12? Well snap my straps. Texas Tech 50, ISU 49
Malicki - How do I gently tell the adults screaming “Shoot! Pass! Get Open! Not in the Center! Hustle! Focus! Kick it Out of There! Breathe!” that they're not helping their 7-year-olds develop ball skills let alone life skills? Texas Tech 49, ISU 15
Brooks - Cyclones are in a good position with Tech celebrating big win over Oklahoma. But that still doesn't mean Iowa State will win. Texas Tech at home is again too much. Texas Tech 28, ISU 21
Ogden – New quarterback, injured running back and, now, dropped passes. Things not going well in Ames. Texas Tech 45, ISU 10
Johnson – I think me and 10 of my work cohorts could score against Iowa State's defense. Scott Saville would be our running back, of course. Texas Tech 42, ISU 20
Gray – Can the Cyclones outscore the Red Raiders? Not likely. Expect 1,000 combined yards or more in this one. Texas Tech 44, ISU 30
Linder –You'd think Tech would have a letdown, but it won't matter. Texas Tech 44, ISU 24
Steward – Maybe a trap game for the Red Raiders? Doesn't matter. ISU 14, Texas Tech 37
Saville – Did Texas Tech really beat Oklahoma? ISU will not be able to stop the high powered Tech passing game. ISU 17, Texas Tech 48
Sears – So who expected the Red Raiders to beat Oklahoma in Norman? I'd love to say there will be a letdown when ISU travels to Lubbock, but Tech is averaging close to 400 passing yards and 43 points a game. Tough first start for Barnett. Texas Tech 45 , ISU 21
Jean –Iowa State will continue to only show up to play when it's against Iowa. Texas Tech 38, ISU 7
Michigan State at Nebraska
Morehouse - Speaking of Nebraska music ... Drawing a blank. Is Don Dokken from Magnet, Neb.? Nebraska 28, Michigan State 27
Hlas - A two-headed calf is on display at the Fort Cody Trading Post in North Platte, Neb. Who says all Nebraska has is Cornhusker football? Nebraska 24, Michigan State 20
Pugliese - Spartans have knocked off Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin, so why not Nebraska for an October to remember. Michigan State 35, Nebraska 31
Campbell - It must be about time for Malicki to make the baby shower rounds again. Hopefully she will tweet me the details. Michigan 17, Nebraska 14
Malicki - Did I forget to mention that I used to commentate-by-shouting my kids' games until I went hoarse? It wasn't until other parents gently told me to shut my trap that I stopped ... so now I'm sharing that sage advice with you gentle readers. Michigan State 28, Nebraska 24
Brooks - If Huskers are in the running for the Legends Division title will have to prove it with a win over Michigan State. Spartans fortunate to beat Wisconsin, and I don't think they'll win in Lincoln. Nebraska 21, Michigan State 17.
Ogden – Michigan State pulled a stunner last week. Nebraska will … oh, never mind. Michigan State 28, Nebraska 24
Johnson – This time, the Hail Mary will be incomplete. Nebraska 24, Michigan State 21
Gray – Nothing can stop the Kirk Cousins Express. Especially not the Cornhuskers' creaky, Crick-less defense. Michigan State 38, Nebraska 31
Linder –Never did see a good angle as to whether the Spartans broke the plane of the goal line. Still, cool finish. Nebraska 34, Michigan State 28
Steward – Time for all those consecutive home sellouts to prove they're really worth something. Nebraska 24, Michigan State 21
Saville – Michigan State defense will give the Huskers problems. Michigan State 28, Nebraska 17
Sears – The Spartans ruined Wisconsin's title hopes in dramatic fashion. Epic win. Monumental, classic. Now they take on the big 10 newbies. Sparty sports a stingy defense. The blackshirts are not the blackshirts of old. Michigan State 27 , Nebraska 17
Jean – The Spartans will ride the wave. Michigan State 24, Nebraska 21
