An Iowa City woman was arrested Monday afternoon after police said she twice threatened to kill her neighbors.
Police said Kay M. Sonderberg, 63, believed her neighbors in the 500 block of Elkhorn Trail in Iowa City had stolen her cell phone. Sonderberg allegedly went to her neighbor's residence at 3:12 p.m. Monday, kicked in their door, grabbed a lead pipe and told them to come outside so she could kill them.
Sonderberg allegedly came back a second time armed with a board and stood in the front yard, again telling the neighbors she was going to kill them.
Sonderberg was charged with first-degree harassment and taken to Johnson County Jail, where she remains on a $6,500 cash-only bond.
