N/A
Feb. 4, 2010 1:30 pm
An Iowa City mother of three and her boyfriend were shot to death on a South Side Chicago street.
Maryrosa Russell-Green was in Chicago to visit her her daughter, grandson and her boyfriend, Charles King, when she was shot late Tuesday.
Police say the 44-year-old Russell-Green and the 28-year-old King were parked on a street in the Gresham neighborhood when another auto drove up and shots were fired. Both were pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in suburban Oak Lawn.
Russell-Green's sister, Yolonda Swift, said the woman recently moved to Iowa to find a job and escape the city life.
Larry Anderson, who lives near where the murder occurred, says shootings are common on the street, which he described as a drug corridor.
Police say they have yet to determine a motive for the shooting.
