Iowa City West student charged with arson following fire at school
Iowa City police have charged 15-year-old Christopher Spurgeon with First Degree Arson following a fire set at an Iowa City West High School restroom Tuesday.
Fire crews responded to the school at 9:39 a.m. but school staff had already put the fire out with a portable fire extinguisher. The fire was contained to a plastic toilet paper holder and its contents.
An Iowa City West student has been charged with arson.
