Iowa City to dedicate new bridge, road

IOWA CITY - The city will dedicate the new McCollister Bridge and Boulevard Oct. 2.

The event is to be on the east end of the bridge at 2 p.m. The bridge is on the south side of town, between Gilbert Street and Riverside Drive.

As previously reported, the bridge will be the first new roadway over the Iowa River in Iowa City since the 1960s.

The road, meanwhile, will be a new arterial through the south side of Iowa City.
