Iowa City teen arrested in gun incident

A City High student is facing weapons charges after authorities said the teenager brought a gun to school.
The 16-year-old was arrested Friday at a bus stop, where the teen had a gun tucked into his waistband. The student faces a charge for carrying a weapon on school grounds and another charge for carrying a weapon.
Sgt. David Droll said police were called after a student said the teen showed her a gun while demanding she give him a cigarette.
School officials said the teenager is a sophomore at the high school, but did not attend classes on Friday.
