Iowa City police warning women about peeping Toms

Police in Iowa City are warning women to beware peeping Toms as spring weather arrives.
Iowa City Police Sgt. Denise Brotherton says "window peekers" are a reality and she warns that looking through a window can elevate to home invasion. She says it's not uncommon for women to report seeing men outside their windows.
Brotherton says there are ways to prevent it.
She suggests if it's possible, women shouldn't live on the ground floors of buildings. Brotherton says women should close drapes or blinds and lock windows and doors when the sun goes down.
Brotherton also says women should keep a phone nearby and have "no hesitation" to call police.
