(AP) - Iowa City police are reminding drivers to scrape the snow and ice off their windows or face an $80 ticket for violating Iowa's "obstruction of view" law.
Sgt. Kevin Heick (hike) says a little hole to see through won't cut it.
Under the law, there must be an unobstructed view from the front and side windows.
Heick says he doesn't believe any tickets have been issued yet. He says police are stopping drivers, giving them a warning and making them scrape the windows before they get on their way.
Heick says the law doesn't cover just snow and ice. He says it also applies to cars so packed with junk that there's only room for the driver, and the driver can't see out the passenger side window.
