Iowa City police say man attacked after asking for change from drug buy
An Iowa City man was arrested Saturday night after police say a drug deal turned violent.
Sidney McVay Jr., 19, of 2401 Highway 6 E., was charged with assault causing bodily injury.
According to an arrest report, McVay and another person received payment from the victim for a drug transaction at 5:48 p.m. on Saturday. The victim gave McVay too much money and asked for change, but McVay refused. A verbal confrontation ensued, and eventually McVay and his friend attacked the victim, striking him in the face and causing lacerations.
Police say McVay fled the scene, but was later spotted by a witness and arrested.
