Iowa City police say drunken driver hit two bicyclists

A man faces a drunken driving charge after hitting two Iowa City bicyclists Friday evening.
Colton McMaster, 22, of Iowa City was arrested and charged with second-offense drunken driving and Lynn Harrison, 35, and Nico Beckerman, 20, both of Iowa City, were transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Iowa City police say McMaster was stopped with his vehicle facing west at the intersection of Bowery and Gilbert streets about 5:40 p.m. waiting to turn south. The two bicyclists were stopped on the sidewalk waiting to proceed west. Once the light changed, the bicyclists proceeded into the intersection as McMaster also turned south and hit both cyclists.
