The Iowa City Police Department is investigating a death after a body was found in Sand Lake, near the Park Lodge in the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, according to a news release from the city of Iowa City.
Police were called to the area at 11:41 a.m. Wednesday after the body was discovered. It was removed from the water and the person was determined to be deceased.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of family. The police department is investigation the case as an unattended death, the release states.
