Iowa City police investigating BB gun injury

IOWA CITY - A girl suffered bleeding and loss of vision after being shot with a BB gun, according to authorities.
Iowa City police and fire officials, along with Johnson County Ambulance reported to the 2200 block of Davis Street at 3:36 p.m. Saturday, after receiving a report that a girl had been shot near her eye with a BB gun, according to a news release from Iowa City police.
The victim was transported to the University of Iowa Emergency Trauma Center where it was discovered the BB was lodged in her eye socket causing bleeding and loss of vision.
The victim reported seeing a group of five to eight juvenile males with BB guns before being shot, but did not recognize anyone in the group, according to the release. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Iowa City Police Department at (319) 356-5275.
