Iowa City Police investigate robbery

Iowa City Police are investigating a robbery reported to have occurred on Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the area of Court St. and Summit St.

According to the adult male victim, at approximately 10:45 p.m. he was walking home from the L & M Mighty Shop along Burlington St. when he sensed someone walking behind him. When the victim reached the area of Summit St and Court St, he was tackled from behind and knocked to the ground. While the victim was still on the ground his wallet was ripped out of his back pocket. Before the victim could react the suspect ran away with the wallet.

The victim described the suspect as approximately 5'8, wearing a puffy coat and a stocking cap. The victim was not injured.
