Iowa City police investigate reported robbery outside apartment

IOWA CITY - Iowa City police are searching for two suspects who reportedly robbed a man outside his apartment Wednesday night.
According to a news release, the robbery victim told police he was approached by two men outside his apartment, in the 1900 block of Broadway Street, at 8:42 p.m. One of the men displayed what was later determined to be a pellet/BB gun, police said, and the men then grabbed the victim's cellphone and fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Police said the suspects were described as black men with slender builds, wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled tightly to cover their faces.
The case remains under investigation, police said. Iowa City CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 319-358-TIPS (8477) or www.iccrimestoppers.org
