Iowa City North Dodge Street Hy-Vee to open

IOWA CITY - Following several months of construction, Iowa City's newest Hy-Vee store is slated to open its doors next week.

The new store at 1125 N. Dodge St. will officially open at 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, and replace the nearby Hy-Vee at 1201 N. Dodge St., with the latter store scheduled to close at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, according to a Wednesday news release.

The roughly 56,600-square-foot building will include a number of offerings common at other Hy-Vee stores including a full service restaurant, pharmacy with drive-up window, wellness department, floral shop and designer, wine and spirits and specialty cheese and artisan breads.

An employee-owned corporation, Hy-Vee operates 235 stores across eight states with sales of more than $8.7 billion annually.
