Iowa City man's federal child porn trial again delayed

Trial has again been delayed for an Iowa City man facing federal child pornography charges.

Magistrate Judge Thomas Shields moved the trial date from Nov. 1 to Jan. 3 for Alexander Evans, 27, of Iowa City, who requested the continuance in Davenport at a pretrial conference today. Evans is charged in U.S. District Court with one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography, federal court records show.

Iowa City police said they found thousands of images of child pornography on a computer seized as part of a drug investigation in March 2009.

The next pretrial conference for Evans is 9 a.m. Dec. 13.
